Myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids — also called as leiomyomas. These common noncancerous growths appear in the uterus. Uterine fibroids usually develop during childbearing years, but they can occur at any age. They can occur in the various locations.
Depending on the location, either laparoscopy or hysteroscopy is performed.
LaparoscopicMyomectomy is a minimally invasive procedures, where Dr. Mala Raj inserts a laparoscope and removes only the symptom - causing fibroids and reconstructs the uterus. Thereby saving the uterus, the normal periods is resumed. In women desiring pregnancy, they can start for pregnancy, three months after the laparoscopic procedure.
